Who: Desmond Molloy and Peter Petrelli/Michael Tarello/the really hot guy Des is dating
What: A Day at the Best Beach in the World™
Where: Whatever city they're in -- it is nondescript and generic? LA, maybe? IDK
When: Friday, April 17, afternoon
Rating: Knowing Des, it'll go to R really quick.

Des was giddy. There was really no other way to describe the feeling that he was experiencing as he packed up a picnic lunch for Peter -- no, Michael -- and himself. He would have to get used to calling his. . .well, he wasn't really sure what to call Michael, really. They hadn't exactly given their relationship labels yet, and he wasn't sure if it was too soon to call Michael his boyfriend. He felt like it wasn't too soon, but he didn't want to scare off the other man.

He could be low key though, no big deal. He was just happy to get to spend time with Michael. He wasn't kidding about liking the guy. He couldn't explain it, but Michael was exciting and different. Every time that Des thought he had a handle on who Michael was, the man would surprise him with a new facet. It was like peeling back the skin of an onion and finding the fruit of a peach. Some people might proceed with caution and possibly back away in concern, but not Des. Hell no, if anything, it made him more intrigued.

So, he whistled a happy tune to himself as he stuck the containers filled with salad for Michael and lunch meat for himself into the cooler. He'd packed a little extra meat, just in case Michael wasn't a vegetarian after all, and then he got containers of macaroni salad and cole slaw out of the fridge, adding those to the cooler as well. Bottles of water, lemonade and a couple of sodas were tucked into the cooler too, and then everything got loaded into Des' 1967 cherry red Mustang GT convertible.

A change of clothes -- in case they decided to go out for dinner or something afterwards -- was stuffed into a duffle bag, and Des was ready to go. He was already wearing his swim trunks, a casual t-shirt and flip flops completing his outfit. Now, he just needed to get Michael.

The duffle bag got tosed into the back seat and Des hopped behind the wheel, cranking up the engine and zooming off to Michael's place.

Des couldn't stop the crooked grin that played across his face as he pulled up outside Michael's apartment and found him waiting. He put the car in park and left the engine running, getting out and going around to greet Michael. His hand reached out to take the other man's bag away from him as he leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to Michael's cheek.

"Hey, you," Des said. "You look really, really good." Was Michael's skin gleaming? Yes, yes, he was pretty sure it was, and he mentally kicked himself. He hadn't even thought about that. "Ready to go?"

"Hey," he returned, hoping the nervous tremor in his voice wasn't too noticeable. They already had sex so he should be fine, but this was all new to him. Something he would have to force himself to get used to if he wanted to be around Des. "You look good too," he added, thinking that he should compliment Des rather than bask in the glow of being complimented.

"Yeah, let's go. I want to see this so-called Best Beach in the World."

Desmond noticed the nervous tremor in Michael's voice but didn't comment on it; he just smiled a little brighter, thinking that it was adorable. He grinned and blushed a little when Michael complimented him, and then walked back around to the driver's side of the Mustang.

"Well, you'll be pretty amazed because it's seriously the prettiest beach I've ever seen." he said as he put Michael's bag on the back seat next to his. He'd put the top down on the convertible since it was such a beautiful day, and he wasn't particularly concerned about the bags blowing away or anything.

"I've got some food too for when we get hungry later." he said. He swore, snapping his fingers in irritation as he realized he had forgotten something. "Sunscreen! Dammit, I knew I was forgetting something."

"You just thought of everything, didn't you?" Michael commented with a smile. "Except the sunscreen," he added teasingly. "But don't worry, I'll rub some on you when we get to the beach." And if there was a slightly seductive purr behind those words, it was only because he'd unintentionally put one there. After all, it wasn't like he hadn't done that for his clients in the past.

"Pretty much everything," Des said sheepishly. He shivered a little in anticipation at the thought of Michael rubbing sunscreen onto his body, and he grinned, giving the other man a wink as he got behind the wheel of the car and put on his seatbelt.

"Do you surf?" he asked.

He opened his mouth to reply, but then remembered he was trying to be more honest with Desmond. "No," he answered. "I mean, I know how, but I don't really go out. I like laying out and sunbathing. The sound of the waves on the shore is very peaceful..."

Des grinned as he drove toward the beach. "I like laying out and sunbathing too, but I enjoy surfing. It's my dream to travel to Australia. I didn't bring the surfboard today though." He chuckled and flashed a sheepish grin. "Well, obviously I didn't bring my board 'cause we're not crunched for space here."

Why was he so nervous and rambling? He knew that Michael liked him, he shouldn't have been nervous. He pulled into the parking lot at the beach and found a space, shutting off the engine. "Here we go, Best Beach Ever!"

"Australia, huh?" Michael ran a finger over his lips thoughtfully. He didn't make any further comment on it. His lips curled into a smile of amusement listening to Desmond ramble. He thought it was rather endearing. And a part of him felt rather pleased he had that sort of effect on the other man.

When they arrived at the beach, Michael peered out curiously. "And what makes this beach so special?" he wondered. "Besides being here with me," he added with a cocky smirk.

"Yeah, that's, like, my utimate vacation destination," Des said with a wide grin. He'd been wanting to go there ever since he was a little kid. "One day I'll get there."

He laughed as he got out of the car and grabbed his bag, slinging it over his shoulder. "Are you kidding me?" he asked. "The sand is beautiful, the water is crystal clear, it's paradise." He grabbed Michael's bag and then moved to pick up the cooler.

Michael responded with a smile before hopping out of the car. He got a better look at the beach and had to agree that Desmond was right. It looked beautiful. Michael closed his eyes, taking in a deep breath of the sea air. "You're right," he said, eyes turning to Desmond. "Best beach ever."

He smiled, thinking he ought to help a little and grabbed the cooler before Desmond. He suddenly took the lead, despite never being here before. All beaches had relatively the same layout: sand and ocean. So Michael headed for the sand. He liked laying out close enough to watch the tide roll in and out.

Des grinned brightly, pleased that Michael thought the beach was beautiful too. That made him very happy because he would've felt awful if he'd built the beach up so much, only to find out that Michael didn't think it was that great.

He laughed when Michael grabbed the cooler before he, and then followed him, taking a deep breath of the sea air. "God, I love the smell of the ocean, don't you?"

"I do," the other confirmed softly. His feet crunched the warm sand as he searched for an empty stretch to set up their things. He finally found a place that suited him and stopped there. It had an uninterrupted view of the ocean. Michael set down the cooler to mark the spot.

"I might just go for a swim," he said thoughtfully. "The water looks inviting."

"The beach is just really peaceful. I grew up in St. Louis and the closest beach was three hours away. We didn't get to go to the beach that much," Des said with a chuckle as he followed Michael. He was more than willing to let the other man pick the spot; he was just happy to be there at the beach.

He grinned when Michael set down the cooler and put down the bags, digging into his to get the beach blanket he'd brought along specifically for the purpose of spreading it out on the sand. He shook it out and then laid it down, securing the corners with the bags, the cooler and his shoes so that it wouldn't blow away.

"Yeah, it really does. I think I might have to join you," he said as he pulled his shirt over his head.

"I've been in California since I was sixteen," Michael said with a shrug. "Though this is definitely the nicest beach I've been to so far. And the company doesn't hurt either," he added, winking playfully at Desmond.

He decided to pull out his beach blanket as well and set it up next to Des's. His eyes flickered to watch the man's shirt peel away. He licked his lips and automatically reached out to run a hand over the exposed skin. "God, you look gorgeous," he purred.

"Yeah? Where'd you live before you came to California?" Des was curious about Michael and wanted to know everything about him. He grinned, blushing a little at Michael's wink.

Of course, he puffed up a little with pride when Michael complimented him, and he grinned, shivering at the touch of Michael's hand to his skin. "Glad you approve. You're not so bad yourself." He winked and grinned. "You wanna put the sunscreen on me now?"

"Washington." He made a face when he said the state's name. "It was too boring for my taste. I needed a bit more adventure."

His fingers thoughtfully moved over Des's chest. He had a sultry look in his eyes he wasn't even aware of. It was just natural for him, now, to behave this way. "I think it's a good idea," he nodded. "Sunburns can get painful." Michael pulled away to find the sunscreen.

"Now, get on your back and let me take care of you." There was that seductive tone again.

From: [identity profile] notaballad.livejournal.com
"Huh, I've never been to Washington." That was really all that he could think to say about that subject because Michael quickly distracted him with the sultry look in his eyes and that seductive tone. It sent a shiver coursing through Des' body, and he gave an eager grin as he was all too happy to comply with Michael's request.

He settled onto his back and grinned up at the man, trying to keep his body under control. It would be embarrassing to get an erection right there when they were out in the open like that.

"It's boring," Michael said dismissively. He rubbed some of the suntan lotion between his palms before settling himself on top of Desmond.

He'd done this so many times his practiced hands went right to work. He could do this two ways, and he wasn't sure for once if Des wanted it to be sensual or not. For now he stuck to rubbing on the lotion like a normal person.

"I'll have to be careful," he said, possibly speaking Des's worries out loud. "I don't want to get too excited."

"I heard it rains all the time in Seattle," Desmond said, his gaze focused on Michael. He smiled, biting his bottom lip when the other man settled onto him, and he took a deep breath, laughing lightly.

"Yeah, that might be a bit awkward, us being on a public beach and all," he said with a teasing grin. "Later, though. . ."

"It does," Michael agreed, running his hands gently over Des's shoulders and back. "It sucks. That's why I moved down here." Among other things, but the warm weather definitely didn't hurt.

"Later," Michael echoed, thoughtlessly starting to massage Des now. His hands were strong as they kneaded the other man's muscles.

"Haha, seriously? Oh man, that would so suck," Des said, wrinkling his nose. He let out a soft sigh when Michael moved his hands over his shoulders and back. That felt nice. He smiled softly, turning his head so that he could look over his shoulder at Michael. "I'm glad that you moved down here. We might not have met otherwise."

He closed his eyes and groaned softly as Michael started to massage him. He spent so much time in front of the computer and was guilty of not having great posture, so his muscles were pretty tight, particularly along his shoulders.

"I'm glad I moved too," he answered, and was surprised by how sincere that sounded. He really, honestly was glad he met Desmond.

He carefully worked on Desmond's muscles, making a "tsk" sound feeling how tight they were. His method changed again to something more caring like what a nurse would be doing for their patient. Somehow it seemed like the right thing to do.

"You need to take better care of yourself," he scolded.

Desmond smiled brightly, his heart swelling at the sincerity he heard in Michael's voice. It made him really happy to think that the other man was just as glad to have moved there, and he was pretty confident that he was the cause for most, if not all, of that glee.

He chuckled a little sheepishly at the "tsk" sound he heard Michael make, and then groaned a little under his ministrations. "I know, I know, I have terrible posture," he said. "I try to be good, honest, but I get intent on what I'm doing and just lean forward on my elbow."

"It's important to stay healthy," Michael insisted. He didn't know why he said those words, and the way he said them sounded like they'd been droned into him. Michael stopped, running a hand through his hair. He had a sudden rush of worry for Desmond and he couldn't explain why.

"Um, yeah, I think that's enough," he said, quickly shifting away.

From: [identity profile] notaballad.livejournal.com
Des blinked in surprise at those words and the way that Michael said them. They sounded familiar, but they'd come from Peter. He frowned when Michael shifted away and turned over, sitting up, a look of worry on his face.

"Are you okay, Michael?" he asked, a touch of concern in his voice as he reached out to lay a hand on the other man's shoulder.
