A surprise anniversary present for Peter...

Left on his pillow, along with a handwritten, glitter gel pen note...

"One year ago today, I met a confused young man who couldn't remember falling asleep. I was intrigued and a little bit 'wtf' but I stuck around, got to know him.

It's been a wild ride, and I know you don't remember a lot, but I'm glad you're still here. ♥ Des"

He also added a date, "3-9-10" but mun forgot to write that on it...

I try not to, but the name "Michael" came out really strong.

[blushes and smiles sheepishly] He was my boyfriend.

...Oh. [and look at that, the subway stopped. Peter's getting off]

[frowns slightly at Peter's tone, and he quickly follows, afraid he's said something wrong] Peter...

[standing on the sidewalk looking broody]

[licks his lips and stops beside Peter, shoving his hands into his coat pockets] I didn't know about the Dollhouse then... I met Peter, and I asked him out. We went out and halfway through the date, he told me that he was really Michael, that he'd been hired to play Peter. I was confused but intrigued and...went along with it, and then...the Dollhouse interferred.

It wasn't me, Des. Michael, Kilo.... They aren't me.

I know that, Peter. I'm not trying to say that they are -- were, whatever.

I just don't really know you that well, Des. And... you don't know me. It feels awkward.

I don't want you to be awkward... I don't... I want to know you. Tell me what I have to do to make this less awkward.

I don't know. This is our first date, so... let's just go from there.

Okay. [smiles softly] Doma's is on 17th and 7th. The next block.

Oh. Right. [heads that way, blushing awkwardly]

[smiles and follows after him, hands in his pockets] So, I know you're thinking about being a paramedic...which means you care about people. What else do you like?

Reading, baseball, animals... oh, and flying. I love to fly.

What kind of books do you read? [grins] What guy doesn't like baseball? Flying, huh? Are you a pilot?

My brother was a pilot in the Navy. That, and the whole Peter Pan thing... I've just always loved the idea of flying.

Makes sense. [grins] Peter Pan, huh? Jude's a musician. Jazz. We used to be in choir together at our church, but eh, Jude was better. [that, and Des wanted Jude to have one area where he wasn't constantly measured against Des...]

People were always comparing me to Nathan. He's twelve years older than me.

[nods] People have always compared Jude and me because we're identical. [smiles and opens the door to Doma] After you...

[steps inside, looking around with interest]

[smiles brightly, pleased that Peter likes the place]

Thanks, Peter. They have really good food here.

I would've been okay with just coffee, you know.

[blushes] Well, I mean, they're a coffee place first... I just thought, if you were hungry...
