A surprise anniversary present for Peter...

Left on his pillow, along with a handwritten, glitter gel pen note...

"One year ago today, I met a confused young man who couldn't remember falling asleep. I was intrigued and a little bit 'wtf' but I stuck around, got to know him.

He also added a date, "3-9-10" but mun forgot to write that on it...

[moves to stand in line, smiling at Peter] I thought it might be fun to catch a movie later.

Dinner and a movie. That sounds good.

There's a reason that it's the classic date night. [cheeky grin]

I haven't been out in a long time. As myself, anyway. So classic is fine with me.

Same here... [grins] What kind of movie would you want to see?

Alice in Wonderland. You can't go wrong with Johnny Depp and Tim Burton.

Excellent choice! [grins] Oh man, I fear for the literacy of the children of tomorrow though... I was browsing around online last night and found a post on a forum. This elementary school teacher didn't know that Alice in Wonderland was based on books. She thought it was just a remake of the Disney cartoon.

[chuckles a little] Luckily my two nephews are very smart, so I think they'll be okay.

[grins and glances at him] I didn't know you had nephews. How old are they?

[they're next in line, and he orders two antipastos and a vanilla milk, then glances at Peter] What do you want to drink?

Just coffee will be fine.

Ahhh, those are good ages. I have no nephews or nieces...and probably never will. Jude's not much into coupling.

[grins and orders a coffee for Peter, and then pays for everything]

[looks embarrased] I could've paid for the drinks. The Dollhouse gave me more money than I could use.

[shakes his head] No way. I asked you out on the date, remember?

Right. [pushes his hair out of his face] Feels like I haven't been on a date in a long time.

[grins and moves over to the pick up line] Hmmm, I guess I can forgive you forgetting the rules then.

[smiles at him, going off into deep thought]

[waits for their food and then grabs the tray, turning away from the counter] So, where do you want to sit? By the window is always good. Great for people watching.

That sounds okay.

Cool. [grins and moves over to a table in the corner next to the big, glass plate window. He sets the food out and then hands Peter a fork] Dig in.

[eats in silence for a while, mulling things over. Swallows his bite]

We ate together every day. Banana nut pancakes were my favorite for breakfast.

[isn't expecting that, and he looks up from his plate in surprise. He's silent for a moment, his head tilting to the side]

I always liked the French Toast. [smiles softly]

I can make French Toast for you sometime, if you wanted. [smiles, and goes back to eating for a while. Like the act is making him remember random stuff]

I liked maple syrup. It tasted nice when I licked it out of your mouth. [and he says it in that weird matter-of-fact Doll way]

Really? I would love that. French Toast is my favorite, but I suck at making it.

[blushes a little, shifting a bit in his seat because Peter said it matter-of-factly but the feelings it evokes in Desmond are anything but] Yeah? I remember that...
