Character Information

Identity: Desmond Jones Molloy
Is your true identity a secret? Nope. No reason for it to be. I’m not a superhero. Well, except for this one time... Okay, so yeah, my true identity is now a secret.
Alias: DJ, Des...unless you mean superhero alias and then I don’t have one plus I've recently decided to become a superhero and I'm known as Faze.
Age: I was born May 22, 1985. You do the math.
Sexuality: Mostly straight but I’ve dabbled. I’ll try almost anything once. Otherwise, how are you supposed to know if you like it or don’t?
Occupation: Freelance Graphic Designer; Twin Annoyer
Clothing: I dress for the occasion. If it’s necessary to be in a designer suit, I’m dressed to kill, right now to matching my tie to my shoes. Otherwise, I’m a jeans and t-shirt guy. I like for my clothes to be comfortable yet stylish. You’ll never see me mixing patterns.
Appearance: Pretty damn sexy, if I do say so myself. I’m 5’9”, chocolate brown eyes, brown, almost black hair that I keep neatly trimmed and perfectly gelled, unlike my brother who’s got these bangs that he just lets fall into his eyes. I’m not overly muscular, but I’m physically fit. I can hold my own in a fight. My mouth’s a little crooked, but what you can do when the left side of your lower lip doesn’t move? Contrary to popular belief, I’m not a stroke victim nor is Jude. The nerve endings in the lower left side of our lip are dead, hence the crookedness. I’ve got a star tattoo on the underside of my upper right arm.

Abilities: Phasing and psychometry. Phasing basically means that I can make myself intangible and pass through solid objects -- cars, walls, steel doors, you name it and I can make it through it. Psychometry is a little less cool. It’s the ability to sense details about the past or future of an object, person or location. I’ve just got to touch it and I can tell you everything about where it’s been and where it’s going. I can control the psychometry if I'm consciously aware of the touch but anything that catches me offguard, I can't control 'cause I'm not expecting it.

Do you have a theme song? If so, do you sing it yourself?: No theme song, unless you count Black Sabbath’s ‘Iron Man’ which I hum to myself when I need to pump myself up about something.
Do you have a catchphrase? Shazam? I say ‘fucking’ a lot too, haha! Sha-fucking-zam when I’m REALLY excited about something
Describe your costume: Why describe it when I can show you a sketch of it, eh?
Do you have a sidekick? Are you a sidekick yourself? I guess I’m technically a sidekick ‘cause I follow Jude around on tour and annoy him whenever possible (which is at least once daily)
Is there a superhero/villain that you look up to? Does my brother count?
What is your Celebrity Status? Metropolitan, I guess? People in Boom Town know me ‘cause of the bank robbers incident and people in my hometown know me ‘cause I’m DJ Molloy, the kid who phased himself through the floor of his second-story Chemistry class and got STUCK at chest-level in his freshman year of high school
What are you famous for? Being Jude Molloy’s brother. Or, you know, Jude himself. You have no idea how many girls have come up to me and gone ‘Oh my god, you’re Jude Molloy!” and I’m like “Nope, sorry, I’m his twin, Desmond.” Oh, I’m also remembered as “you know, that guy that phased through that wall and stopped those bank robbers from, like, escaping that one time, dude.” Yes, therein lies my one triumphantly heroic deed -- phasing through the wall at the Seven Eleven where these bank robbers had stopped to refill their Big Gulps. I was drunk, I lost control of my power, phased through the wall, crashed into the guys. The girl behind the counter called the cops and I was credited with saving the day.

Personality: My personality? Um, I dunno, I’m kinda introverted, I guess. I’m one of those creative artist types, so I’m more comfortable alone or with a small, close-knit group of people. I’m sarcastic, I’m snarky, I’m an asshole, I’ve got a quick temper. If you can gain my trust though, I’m loyal and there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for somebody that I love. Just ask Jude about the deviled eggs incident and who REALLY ate all of Aunt Fran’s delectable hors d’oeuvres.... That being said, I do like a good party every now and then, and I tend to loosen up a little when I get drunk. I get touchy-feely when I’m drunk and I’m one of those happy drunks that loves everybody. I’m pretty protective of Jude, even though he’s older by, like, four minutes, but I sometimes will go out of my way to annoy him, just because I can. I mean, I’m the younger twin, I should enjoy it, right? I’m kinda anal and I’ve got OCD when it comes to certain things. Things have to be JUST SO or I get irritated. Like my iTunes playlist; it fucking ANNOYS the shit out of me when I copy songs on my iPod and they’re not in order like they are on the CD. Ugh, and when there isn’t album artwork with the song? That annoys me too and I obsess over it until I get it right. Same thing with my work. I’m a graphic designer and I’m a bit of a perfectionist with my work. No matter how good I get it to look, even if I’m satisfied with the way it looks and so is my customer, the next time that I look at it, I will inevitably find something wrong with it and it will nag at me until I fix it.

Home(s): Let’s see, Boom Town, New York is the obvious answer, right? Jude and I were born in St. Louis, Missouri though. He travels a lot ‘cause he’s a musician and I usually tag along with him ‘cause I’m freelance which means that as long as I’ve got my laptop, I can go wherever. Jude’s tours go to mainly New York, Chicago, Las Vegas and Los Angeles, so that’s where I can be found.

History: Tell you about my mother, huh? Sure thing, Freud. She’s a hippie, one of those ‘burn your bra’ types. Sweet lady though, don’t get me wrong. Cool as hell. Jude and I have got the neatest mom and we were always envied by our other friends. My first joint? Was smoked with my mom in our basement. Um, I was born on May 22, 1985, four minutes after my brother Jude. We were both named after Beatles songs ‘cause our parents are HUGE Beatles fans. Even THINK the name Sgt. Pepper and Dad gets a hard-on, no lie. Jude got the short end of the stick though. Poor guy, not only does he get the ‘Hey Jude’ jokes, but his middle name is Krishna. Me? I’m Desmond Jones Molloy. And yes, I avoid dating girls named Molly as much as possible. You have no idea how many times I’ve had to turn a hot girl down just because she’s named Molly. It probably seems selfish and odd, but c’mon, I don’t want to be living out a fucking Beatles song.

Oh yeah, don’t tell Jude I told you his middle name, okay? He’d kill me.

Growing up in St. Louis was pretty uneventful. Mom and Dad didn’t have any more kids after Jude and me. I guess twins were ‘two’ much to handle. Haha, get it? Man, my puns suck...anyway. We had the normal childhood. I developed the ability to annoy my brother almost before we could walk. Actually, before we could walk, to hear my aunts and uncles tell it. I was always stealing his toys or whatever. He got me back though as we got older. There were more than a few times when he beat me to the ground and made me say uncle. Through it all though, we’ve always had each other’s backs. I mean, that’s part of being a sibling, right? Even moreso when you’re a twin. Now I’m not going to tell you that we can do any of that hokey ‘talk to each other with our minds’ stuff, but there’s something to that whole twin bond thing ‘cause there have been times when we’ve been able to sense when the other one’s in trouble. Random feelings too, we can sense.

Um, he manifested first. I was kinda jealous, but whatever. I don’t really remember when my psychometry manifested but I guarantee you that I will NEVER forget the first time I phased through something. Figures it’d have to happen right in front of a classroom full of kids my age, right? I still don’t know how I did it, but we were working on balancing those stupid equations or whatever and Mrs. Stewart called me to come up to the board and demonstrate a problem. Fuck, I hadn’t done my homework and the equations confused the hell out of me. All I could think about was getting the hell out of the classroom and as I started walking up to the board, I started sinking through the floor and before I knew it, I was up to my chest in the floor. I freaked out. It was nothing compared to my teacher though, wow. I think she retired shortly after that.

After high school, Jude went off and did his thing with the music and his band and stuff and I stuck it out and went to college. I’d always had a thing for computers and design and I decided to do something with it, so I got a BA in Graphic Design from the University of Missouri. I graduated in 2006, worked at a newspaper in St. Louis for a year and then got invited to move in with my brother in Boom Town. Like I was going to turn that down? Yeah, I don’t think so. So I moved to Boom Town. Set myself up a freelance business and started accompanying my brother on his tours.

What is the most heroic/villainous thing you've ever done? Most heroic -- see above under what I’m most famous for. Most villainous? Hmmmmm, that’s a little tougher. I’ve done some pretty villainous things...dragged a cat down some stairs by its tail when I was six (it’s not really a fond memory and I regret it now), put that cat in a tree (it scratched me, I got mad, climbed up the tree with it stuffed in my pocket, left it on a branch. My brother saved it), slept with my brother’s girlfriend in high school (whoops, I don’t think he knew about that....but she was HOT and all over me ‘cause she thought I was him and I didn’t exactly tell her otherwise...)
